Past Projects

ONLINE TEACHING

During COVID-19, we kept learning alive! For three months, volunteers hosted weekly virtual classes on coding, sign language, Taekwondo, creative arts, and more. We brought fun and education straight to kids at home!

TV PILOT

In 2021, we teamed up with Plan Ghana International to bring learning to a bigger screen! We recorded engaging lessons to air on TV, making education more accessible to kids everywhere.

JOURNEY TO THE NORTH

In 2022, we took STEM to the Northern Parts of Ghana. Partnering with the World Education Forum and CAMFED mentors, we spent a week visiting deprived districts, introducing kids, especially girls, to STEM. With role models like nurses and doctors, we showed them what’s possible. One young girl was so inspired she became her school’s first female school prefect and committed to continuing her education.

CHOCOLATE DAY CELEBRATION

On February 14, 2021, we celebrated Chocolate Day with the Ministry of Education and students from Accra Special Needs School. We explored the health benefits of chocolate and its nutrients, with the Deputy Minister of Education joining us for this sweet and educational day.

MY FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL

In 2022, KidsAtHome joined forces with the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, and UNICEF to support the First Day of School Project at Kotobabi No.2 Primary and JHS and Mamfe Presby Primary and JHS. We helped ensure that students started their school year with excitement and support, marking the beginning of their learning journey with a positive impact!

CODING & ROBOTICS SCHOLARSHIPS

Through our partnership with the Gstep Project, we supported JHS students from Nungua with full scholarships to study coding and robotics. After excelling in the Gstep competition, six students (4 boys and 2 girls) received a 3-month scholarship that set them on the path to study science in top schools like St. Peters Senior High and Mamfe Methodist Girls. Without this opportunity, many of them would have chosen other courses, not believing in their potential. Now, they give back by volunteering at KidsAtHome during school breaks!
